What’s up?

Dear PopTech Friends and Family,

Over 29 years, we’ve learned the value of a great PopTech is driven not only by who’s on the stage, but by what transpires between the organized and uncharted aspects of the program. What sticks is the informal conversation at lunch,  the happenstance connection made on a birding walk, or the late night camaraderie of an after hours pop-up.

Here’s what we’re providing:

– An awesome opening cocktail party at DC’s new and cool Barrel House Cafe & Bar

– The beloved PopTech randomized lunch program that’s shining a light on neighborhood partners  Mi Vida, Lupo Pizzeria and Jinya Ramen Bar

– Interactive experiences that offer something for everyone – an evening run club, a soothing sound bath, a boots-on-the-ground puzzle adventure and so much more!

– An Enigma sonic music experience with Martha Mooke and a take down the house performance by PopTech’s resident beatboxer and rapper, Rahzel Brown

– And, of course, the provocation of an amazing group of speakers who are  generously imparting their wisdom and inspiring us to embrace the future.

We’re depending on you to create the spaces in between. That might seem radical but it works!

Enigma captures the complexity of the time in which we find ourselves. A sustained moment informed by disequilibrium and unpredictability that is difficult to understand and interpret – a mystery. By nature, an Enigma lends itself to code-breaking and complex problem solving – the very qualities that define the PopTech community. Come ready to delve into AI, robotics, creative expression, human potential, climate resilience and so much more! PopTech 2025 is dedicated to the memory of our dear friend, the amazing musician, Jill Sobule.

Worth a Watch

It’s so inspiring to share a couple of pieces from our arts archive.

Art EvolutionArtist Shantell Martin provides a tour of her unique, flowing, ever-evolving style, expressed through a simple black pen.

Give Back to the World – French-Tunisian artist eL Seed‘s thought-provoking graffiti and Arabic calligraphy, produced during PopTech 2011. The calligraphy depicts Einstein’s quote, “Give back to the world at least what you’ve received.”
